Mental Health Therapy

Outpatient Mental Health Services

We provide individual therapy with the best mental health professionals, but of course we're biased.

We come from the perspective that mental health is pretty complicated and many things contribute to a person's state of mind.  We help you gain clarity about your life, what's happening in your mind, and where it may have originated.  From there, we work on healing and building skills to tackle anything life might throw at you so you're free to create the life you want.

We think outside the box and we know that traditional therapy doesn't work for everyone.  We will work together to create a treatment plan that works for your life and your style of communicating.  For example, appointments can happen on a walk, sitting by the river, while working on an art project, or in the comfort of your own home.

Types of Therapy Offered

There is no problem too big or too small, we can serve all individuals aged 5 and older with any diagnosis.

Here is a list of the types of therapy L.G.S. endorses:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

  • Stress Management

  • Parent Training

  • Collaborative Relationships

  • Family Systems

  • Family Therapy

  • Couples Therapy

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • Psychoeducational Therapy

Additional Peer Support

Peer support is available and encouraged for each client.  You will be matched with someone with similar life experiences who can help coach and guide you on your path.  Your person can meet with you at your house, on a walk, for coffee, wherever you feel most comfortable.  They help overcome barriers that keep you stuck in one place.  They can be your grocery shopping buddy or take you to the DMV (because who doesn't have anxiety about that!?)

Individuals enrolled in outpatient mental health also have access to our unique Peer Support Programs, such as Equine-Assisted Peer Support and Vehicle Rehabilitation Program, Dragonflies, and various healing groups and classes.

Meet Our Therapists

  • Allison Milner

    MSW, QMHP

I earned a Masters of social work degree from Colorado State University in 2003.

After spending 28 years in Colorado raising my children as a "solo" parent, I relocated to beautiful Oregon in the spring of 2023.

I personally know what substance abuse, addiction, and relapse feels like and how it affects your whole self.

I also live with my own mental health issues. It is because of my own personal journey that my therapeutic approach is very down to Earth, straightforward, and outside of the box techniques.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and sometimes implementing Art Therapy.

I enjoy leading groups! I have facilitated Co-Occuring SUD/MH, Relapse Prevention, and Women's Trauma groups.

I have experience working with adolescents and adults individually as well as experience in family therapy and couples therapy.

My favorite quote is "To the world you may be one person; but to one person you may be the world." -Dr. Seuss

  • Ami Jerome

    M.Ed, QMHP

I earned an M.Ed in counseling psychology from the University of Oregon in 2014, after moving to OR from CA.

I've worked in many different settings, including outpatient clinics and crisis centers, and have experience working with people from many backgrounds with different lived experiences, but tend to work best with older teens and adults.

My personal experiences have helped me have a deep understanding and appreciation of the process of navigating the world of mental health care. I take a feminist approach to counseling, that takes into consideration gender roles, power dynamics and social inequalities and the impact on folks mental health. I also use elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT). Clients working with me can expect collaborative problem solving, candor, honesty and a bit of a disorganized desk.

  • Kelly Rodriguez

    MSC, MFTa, QMHP

I meet people where they are. I believe everyone has the capacity for change and sometimes they need a warm hand to get them there. There’s been times in my life, particularly around grief, that I couldn’t manage the feelings on my own and luckily found a great therapist who helped dig me out of that hole.

I work primarily with children and families (although plenty of adults too) and have a background in schools and crisis centers as well as a few residential facilities. I find that being your true, authentic self, you can get the most work done in mental health care. And that is always my goal in who I bring to the table.

  • Naoko Manabe

    M.Ed., QMHP

I am committed to living a life in which I can give and receive genuine gratitude and know that I am making a difference in others’ lives.

Having been born and raised in Japan, I believe that my unique cultural background is reflected in the acceptance I have for the world around me, the gratitude I demonstrate, and the humility at the core of my being. These characteristics and my commitment to helping others make me ideal as a therapist for anyone experiencing struggles in their lives.

As a co-facilitator of support groups addressing healing from childhood and adult trauma, I have extensive experience supporting survivors of interpersonal trauma. I strongly believe in peer support and interdependence encouraging growth through connecting and learning. I have also worked in public schools, with elementary school age children, for almost 10 years.

I am a survivor of Intimate Partner Violence. I have also experienced parental alienation and post separation abuse.  I have been learning so much through vulnerability, gratitude, compassion and authenticity.

I believe that each of us is the expert in our own lives and I want my life and my work to reflect that.

  • Shawna Smith

    MS, QMHP-C, CADC I

I was born and raised in Beaverton, Oregon. I got my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Oregon, and my Master of Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University, where I graduated with honors. I am passionate about working to support the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, specialize in co-occurring disorders, and have experience with closed-loop brain training called Neurofeedback. While working with me, you can expect trauma informed care and interventions utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Meet Our Skill Builders

  • Aiden Brahn-Perrot

    BS, QMHA

I was born in Boise, grew up in Portland, and moved to Eugene in 2020 to attend the University of Oregon. I graduated with a B.S. in Psychology in 2024, and throughout college I worked in Prevention Science, and researched the psychological symptoms of parents with substance use disorder who use fentanyl. My research interest stemmed from my own struggles with PTSD, substance use, and experiencing loss. Growing up I learned firsthand that parents need more support than is currently available. That support looks different for every person, but my philosophy when working with people stems from the belief that with compassion, destigmatization, and skill assistance people will flourish.

Somatic Healing

Kaverii Blochlinger, Peer Support and Trauma-Informed Yoga Therapist provides one-on-one and group support in releasing trauma through gentle movements, breathing, and mindfulness. Here’s some information about Kaverii:

“I have a focus on being trauma informed in all I offer. I like to use movement and awareness of breath to help people recognize where emotions or trauma is stored in the body. In this way, they can begin to unwind discomfort and pain in the physical body as well as the emotional body.

I like to help folks by supporting them to balance grief with moments of joy. To do this I use different somatic release techniques, that utilize the senses.

I like to walk and talk if that is helpful, and honor different phases of life or transition through ceremony

I have experience with working with people with neurodiversity and LGBTQ folks.”
